Working out your face muscles has become easier thanks to the introduction of new mouth exercisers. Although we are still fans of chewing mastic gum as the best way to achieve a chiseled jawline, using exercise tools can also bring desirable results. In some cases, you might even see these changes take place much quicker.
Today, there are many mouth exercisers on the market which promise to tighten your face and give it more definition. Much like any other form of physical fitness, using jawline exercise tools requires sticking to a consistent routine. Some mouth exercisers currently on the market today, like Jawzrsize, boast fast results but at the cost of a more strenuous workout.
We decided to investigate the face and jawline exercise tools on the market today. Is it worth investing time and money into them? Which are the best? Let’s delve into these questions and more to determine which exercise tools are most effective for making your jawline ‘pop.’
The Science Behind It
Before jumping into specific jawline exercise tools, it’s important to understand which muscles these facial fitness tools target. All jawline exercise tools and facial exercisers workout the four muscles responsible for mastication (i.e. chewing). The most important one of these four is the masseter muscle, but the masseter works in conjunction with three other muscle groups when chewing. The masseter is among the strongest muscles in the entire body: in fact, it’s so powerful that the net force of these four muscles working together in the jawline can maximally apply some 200 pounds per square inch.
This is the muscle group you’ll be targeting by using mouth exercisers. By working out these muscles beyond just for chewing food, they will become tighter. As a result, you will see more definition in your jawline and chin especially if you have a double-chin or a recessed profile. By working out your face, you allow for more oxygenation to your face thus giving you a healthier appearance overall. The end result is a sharper jawline, a tighter face, and an improved, defined profile.
It’s therefore like working out any other muscle in your body, but be careful not to overdo it: face muscles are far more delicate than other muscle groups, so do not push yourself too far.

Face Exercise Tools to Try: Our Recommendations
Although jaw exercise devices are still new, Jawzrsize has effectively put them on the map in the past few years. The public is now being introduced to simple facial fitness routines. Best of all, they are easy to incorporate into your regular physical workouts because they can usually be done simultaneously with other exercises.
As might have expected, our first recommendation is to get yourself a Jawzrsize.
Currently the most popular mouth exerciser on the market, Jawzrsize is a jaw exercise ball that promises results. It works by strengthening over 50 muscles in your face and neck. Meant for daily use, face workouts with Jawzrsize generally last 10-20 minutes.
Depending on strong jawline muscles already are, you will have to choose which level of resistance is best. Jawzrsize comes in 20 lb. resistance, 30 lb. resistance, 40 lb. resistance, and 50 lb. resistance., however, we would recommend 20 lb. for starters.
Our runner-up pick for the best jawline face exerciser out today—Facial-Flex is an FDA-registered Class 1 medical device which has been called the “non-invasive facelift”. It closely competes with Jawzrsize as an alternative and for good reason. Facial-Flex reduces wrinkles, tones the face, and gives your jawline definition by working out your masseter and other muscles. With many rave reviews, Facial-Flex promises to give your face definition in just a few weeks.
Although Facial Flex has been marketed as a beautifying tool, it’s actually a jawline exercise tool suitable for both men and women.
Facial-flex is so much more than just a Jawzrsize alternative. Check out their official website for more information.
This luxury mouth exerciser from Japan piqued our interest when we first stumbled upon it. The reviews were also quite positive. Not only did it tighten the jawline, but users claimed it reduced wrinkles and lifted the cheeks, effectively giving the entire face a more youthful lift.
The tool was the subject of a study published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal which found that using the device for 30 seconds at a time, twice a day, produced significant benefits after 8 weeks of use. The study concluded that facial exercises “using the Pao device can increase facial muscle thickness and cross-sectional area, thus contributing to facial rejuvenation.”
Based on these results, we recommend the Facial Fitness PAO for anyone out there who is willing to spend a little more for a comprehensive facial exercise regiment.
Although not our top pick, JawFit does the job. It’s affordable works out all the right muscles. JawFit works well for double chins and improving oral muscular strength. It, therefore, makes for a great, inexpensive mouth exerciser to try if you are just getting into jawline exercises.
These are among the top tools on the market right now, but feel free to leave a common below if you have other suggestions.
